Project Info

The Alexandra and Ainsworth Estate is a very distinctive place. It is featured in various ways in films and on TV, often as a crime ridden hell-hole, sometimes as an iconic building. Well it’s time that residents on the Estate made a film exploring what we think of it. Rowley Way | Ainsworth Way speaks for itself!

As residents, this is our opportunity to make an interesting, fun and honest documentary film about where we live, and to gain some new skills and experiences at the same time.

We are looking for fellow residents to work with in two ways:

Interviews
We want as wide a range of people as possible to talk about living on the estate. If you would like to be interviewed please contact us.

Making the documentary
Open to anyone living on the estate aged between 11 and 25, and anyone over 60. Places are now filled.

The documentary team are working with professional film makers to make the film. As part of a group, they will decide what is included in the film. They are currently interviewing other residents and also Neave Brown, the architect who designed the estate. The team are doing the filming and learn skills crucial to film making such as camera work, sound recording and interviewing. The final film will be shown at a local cinema and all households will be given a DVD of the film.
